An estimated 200,000 federal workers have been laid off as part of President Trump’s overhaul of the government. One thousand of those are reportedly probationary employees at National Parks across the country, including Yosemite, Sequoia, and Kings Canyon. Dozens of people were protesting for the workers who were laid off in Yosemite National Park. They even flew the American flag upside down off El Capitan.
I wish the media would stop referring to the “Department of Government Efficiency” as if it were a real thing. It’s not. Every time it’s used in an official news report of any kind, it lends it credibility. We have to be better. We have to do better. We have to speak and argue better. Donald J. Trump and Elon Musk are leading a coo of our government and our democracy. If we don’t treat these various attacks and acts of war we are going to lose this great country.
