As a California/Fresno Native, I’ve enjoyed Me-N-Eds pizza since forever. But lately, Me-N-Eds pizza, regardless of which restaurant serves it, is pretty damn expensive, and a clear example of shrink flation, with pizza sizes and toppings getting smaller while the prices are bigger. A simple large pizza will deduct around $20 from your wallet. Domino’s Pizza, while initially known not to be so great, Domino’s stepped up their pizza game significantly in the past decade or so. And they’ve upped it really big with their everyday coupons to use, a free pizza (or other goodies) every few orders, and their to-die-for pan pizza. Sorry Me-N-Eds, but Domino’s isn’t shrinking their pizzas, so I’m inclined to go with the better business.
My most favorite pizza? A 5 topping, 12 inch pan pizza for only $12.99. The Domino’s experience is like Subway for pizzas, as there are many customizations you can make to pizza. The absolute best thing to do with the pan pizza deal is to have a double chicken, double mushroom, and spinach pizza. Domino’s pan pizza is extra cheesy, with extra cheese layers within the crust itself. The Alfredo sauce only complements the pan pizza even further. And of course, Alfredo sauce must pair with chicken, and lots of it. The pan pizza also has its toppings all-around the pizza; the crust is virtually non existent. The mushrooms are fresh (unlike the canned mushrooms that Me-N-Eds uses), and the spinach adds the necessary greenery to such a rich pizza. At least for me. You can have it any other way, of course.
