Fresno State at Michigan | Highlights

The football Bulldogs took on the defending national champion Michigan on the road over the weekend and it went as well as you could have hoped for in a loss. When I put this game on my radar last week I had two thoughts: 1. This would be a great game for national exposure for the program and 2. I sure hope we don’t get blown out and embarrassed on in front of the whole country.

I thought the Bulldogs played as well as they could have defensively and did their part keeping Michigan within reach the entire first half. They let the game slip away in the fourth quarter simply because they were fatigued and overmatched. Conditioning wise, it’s the first semi-real game of year, and I thought they put up more than a great fight against the best team in the country last year. Oh yeah, and I forget to mention they were playing the defending national champions? Enough said.

My biggest concern, and disappointment, was QB Mikey Keene. He looked terrible. He had happy feet several times in the first half and missed a handful of throws that would have eventually put points on the board. Keene looked nervous, undecisive, and like a recently promoted JV player in his first varsity game. It was a terrible look for the Bulldogs and an indicator that he might not have any future, at all, in the NFL.
