I tried Fresno State’s New Beer: Red Wave

Not too long ago, Fresno State had announced the creation of a beer brewery program, which complements its existing wine lineup. Beer and wine are both soft alcohols; they are not hard liquor and are subject to less regulations and costs. They also can utilize barrels; which may be used or borrowed from whiskey barrels (wine, beer, and whiskey/brandy is truly a perfect trifecta). Now it seems that Fresno State has finally kicked off its own beer (in partnership with Tioga-Sequoia Brewing): The Red Wave. The Red Wave is a lager beer, which should be very similar to the masses as mainstream beers are also lagers (Corona, Modelo, Budweiser, Coors), and for good reason. Lager is very refreshing beer, especially in the Spring and Summer months. It’s also relatively “neutral”; it lacks the bitter taste of IPAs that are definitely an acquired taste. Naturally, the Red Wave is perfect to use in Micheladas as well. I had my very first Red Wave at the FresYes Fest last week, in fact.
