Kearney Boulevard’s many Palms

The West side of Fresno (beyond West Shaw)is typically not a pretty part of Fresno, as it’s just boring farmland (no offense farmers) and dust. But one of the cool things there is Kearney Park, and Kearney Boulevard. Kearney Park itself has numerous palms, and stands directly in the middle for the total 18 mile length of the Kearney Boulevard (Shasta Ave. in Kern to Fresno St.). The park is great enough to be its own blog for another time. Anyways, a boulevard is defined as a wide avenue adorned with trees, plants and so on, so it’s no surprise there’s many, many, many palms. The palms cover 8.6 miles of the boulevard, which currently begin as far back as S Westlawn Avenue all the way until it terminates at Fresno Street. If you can manage to be in the middle of the road long enough at night, it makes for some pretty photos.

I didn’t have my tripod, and frankly the sounds of the palms were freaking me out so I didn’t spend much time getting better pictures. Plus the moon was trying to look like the sun; a moonless night would be better.
