No chill in River Park

Two men were arrested for impersonating ICE officers (complete with tactical vests to try and look legitimate) in Fresno at River Park. These men were apparently recording themselves and harassing customers at 11 different businesses. Of course, phone calls were made to Fresno Police, in which the two men were arrested for misdemeanor, cited, and eventually released. What was their goal? Police Detectives say the men did this for social media.

There are plenty of different social interactions abundant on a plethora of platforms, but impersonating law enforcement is bold, and illegal, not to mention having recorded the whole damn thing. Fresno Criminal Defense Attorney Mark King commented that “It’s one kind of stupid to commit a crime. To film the crime and post it on social media is a whole different level of stupid.” These men won’t gain any notoriety, as their names haven’t been released, and probably won’t upload their recordings online anytime soon. -Sources: ABC News, YCV
